Task: Form-work Shop Drawings for Lyon Village Retaining Walls (per Specification 033000.1.04D )
- Develop Formwork Shop Drawings as described in Specification Section 033000, paragraph 1.04D
- The length of the retaining wall is approximately 210' along with North and East section of the tennis courts as shown on Plan Sheet 7
- The shop drawing shall be prepared by or under the supervision of a qualified professional engineer
- The show drawings will contain detail the notes related to the fabrication, assembly, support and stripping of formwork
- Use the aluminum formwork from Western Forms
- Shoring and Reshoring is called for in the specification but that process applies to multi-story building slabs, not to vertical retaining walls

[2009-current]: Virginia DOT, like all other DOTs in the US, has an immense focus on the safety of the travelling public. This requires that traffic sign structures (the metal structures that hold the green directional signs along highways) are inspected and assessed for condition. RAM provides structural condition inspections of approximately 60 overhead traffic sign or signal pole structures each year for the Northern Virginia District and 60 or so for the Richmond District. RAM is a subcontractor to Alpha Corporation on this multi-year contract.

Development of As-Built Plans in MicroStation V8
Based upon your verbal notice to proceed on this task yesterday, we hosted Mr. Marlowe Dixon of VDOT at our offices today and discussed the project’s As-Built Plan development requirements. I expect him to visit
with us again to review the first sample we create and get concurrence from others at VDOT. He agreed that for the first sample As-Built Plan, the approach outlined below worked for him:
• Use the MicroStation sheet file corresponding to the design plan as a gray background
• Transcribe markups made by the Midasco field superintendent on as-built level with color red and weight 1
• Provide electronic sample along with a hardcopy plot for review
Mr. Dixon clarified that the work should be done in MicroStation V8, the latest edition of the software.

Video Pipe Cleaning/Inspection Support Services As-Needed
As McCormick Taylor’s MBE sub-consultant, RAM Consulting Corporation (RAM) will be responsible for the coordination and oversight of the video pipe inspection and/or cleaning as identified by SHA on an as-needed basis. The cleaning and/or inspection work is to be performed by sub-consultant to McCormick Taylor who is to provide the needed specialty equipment with operator. Because the specific sites have yet to be identified, the cost proposed herein is a budgetary estimate.

Task 01: Preparation of Work Orders for 35 BMPs
Project Description:
In accordance with the NPDES permit, SHA inspects and maintains its SWM facilities statewide. In support of this task, RAM Consulting Corporation (RAM) will inspect and prepare maintenance work orders for 35 BMP facilities.
Scope of Services:
RAM will work with the Dewberry team in completing this assignment. Under this task, RAM will be responsible for delivering Work Orders for the assigned facilities. The activities to be performed for this task are:
1... Office Planning – RAM will obtain and review as-built drawings and related reference material provided by Dewberry and/or SHA
2... Field investigation – a two-person team will review locations on a map, coordinate and conduct site visits to each BMP facility for assessment.
3... Facility Assessment and Recommendations – the assessment team will perform office evaluation of each site to determine the best, most cost-effective method for restoring the BMPs to their original design function.
4... Prepare Work Orders – develop work order report for each BMP containing a description of repair work needed along with photographs, a cost estimate, markups on scanned copies of plan drawings, and typical sections in CAD if needed.
5... QA/QC – Review and revise as needed.
